Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of the capital, announced Moscow's bid to host the World Universal Expo 2030 on his official website.
Sobyanin said that Expo-2030 in Moscow will provide an opportunity to see the main achievements of world civilization in the capital and become the world capital of science, industry and technology for half a year.
In addition to Moscow, Busan (South Korea), Rome (Italy), Odessa (Ukraine) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) will compete for the right to host Expo 2030.
"Such a chance just cannot be missed", - stressed the mayor.
The winner will be announced in the summer of 2023.
