About 195 thousand Muscovites took part in the voting organized within the framework of the “Active Citizen” project. The largest number of votes - 35%, namely more than 68 thousand - was given to the drawing “90 Years of the Metro” by Alexander Startsev, which became the winner of the contest. The second and third places were taken by Lisa Gipsle's “Space Route: Journey to Earth” and Rimma Werner's “Project Nelly” respectively.
As part of the anniversary celebration and with the support of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, small spacecrafts with metro symbols will be sent into orbit. The winning drawing selected on the online platform "Active Citizen" will decorate one of them, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Maxim Liksutov. According to him, the young artists who took the prize-winning places will be given memorable gifts from the capital's subway and Space-π.
The satellites are launched as part of the Space-π project, realized by the Foundation for Innovation Promotion with the participation of the School of Design of the National Research University Higher School of Economics and the kiiids.art project. These devices are designed to study the radiation situation, work in the radio frequency spectrum and receive signals, the press service of the Moscow mayor's office reported.
