The structure will be 250 meters long and almost 30 meters wide. The design of the bridge-sail provides for four-lane traffic - two lanes in each direction, as well as sidewalks for pedestrians.
When erecting the bridge, it was decided to abandon the traditional technology of span structure thrusting. Instead, the engineers created a temporary structure, a kind of slipway, which allows the elements of the span structure to be assembled in a hinged manner, using cranes. This approach makes it possible not to interrupt navigation on the Moskva River for electric vessels.
Two artificial peninsulas were formed on the construction site located in the river bed, on which temporary supports for the bridge structure installation were installed. In the future, an 86-meter-high pylon will rise above one of the supports, which is a unique solution for such structures in Moscow.
From the side of Filevsky Park the construction site borders with the existing building. The complexity of the project is added by construction and installation works on the slope, where most of the site is located, and on the embankment peninsulas. Work is also being carried out on the fenced section of Novozavodskaya Street. Thanks to this, the green zone of the park has been preserved.
The quality and safety of engineering structures in Moscow is given increased attention. Mosgosstroynadzor exercises strict control at every stage of construction. Inspectors thoroughly check the reliability and strength of the bridge structures under construction. Since the beginning of the project implementation three on-site inspections have been conducted, including with the involvement of specialists from the subordinate Center for Expertise, Research and Testing in Construction.
Earlier Sergey Sobyanin noted that the new bridge in the area of Novozavodskaya Street will provide a connection between the district Filevsky Park and the North-West Chord. In addition, there will be an additional way to Khoroshevo-Mnevniki district and will improve transport accessibility of the cluster under construction in the Mnevniki floodplain and the territory of the Khrunichev State Space Research and Production Center, according to the press service of the Mayor and Government of Moscow.
