An attempt of intentional poisoning of a leopard named Mizer has been recorded in the Moscow Zoo. This was reported by the general director of the zoo, Svetlana Akulova, on May 27.

A disgusting crime was committed on the territory of the Moscow Zoo - an attempt to poison our animals. During a routine inspection of the enclosures with lynxes and leopard Mizer, scattered pills of unknown origin were found,” she shared in her Telegram channel.

According to her statement, surveillance cameras recorded the moment when an attempt was made to poison the animal. The video shows a man throwing pills to the leopard over the fence. Akulova also emphasized that the zoo administration in cooperation with the police will conduct an investigation to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.

The official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, Irina Volk, said in her Telegram channel that police officers are taking action to establish the identity of the attacker, as well as to find out his motives.
