The incident happened near the town of Aleksin. Lightning struck a body of water in which people were bathing, three vacationers died at the scene of the incident.
Four other people were also injured. Two were taken to Aleksinskaya district hospital with electrical trauma, two more, among whom was a minor, were treated on the spot.
