Two female travelers on vacation in Europe lost 11 designer handbags and jewelry worth a total of 92 million rubles in a theft from their hotel room.
The girls arrived in Saint-Tropez, France, on August 5 and immediately went for a walk, which lasted until late at night. On their return to the hotel, they discovered that their room had been ransacked and the safe built into the wall was gone. According to the victims, eleven Hermes Birkin bags, Patek Philippe watches, Dior luggage, jewelry from Van Cleef & Arpels, and Cartier pieces were stolen.
The total damage from the theft is estimated at almost one million euros (92 million rubles). In addition, the women were missing their identity documents. The hotel's security service inspected the room, but found no signs of forced entry or other evidence. The case is currently under investigation.
