A part of the reptile's body was found in the travel bag of a compatriot by vigilant Omsk customs officers. The man had flown home from Phuket. He had taken the head of the reptile as a memento of his vacation in the land of smiles.
Perhaps, the frugal tourist hoped that the head would not be detected. However, nothing can be hidden from the X-ray at customs.
The Russian said that he bought the head for himself, and he was unaware of the fact that it had to be declared and presented documents authorizing transportation.
The check showed that the transported “souvenir” really turned out to be a reptile head.
The tourist was charged with two cases of administrative offense - for failure to comply with prohibitions and restrictions, as well as non-declaration of goods.
The man will be fined and the crocodile head will be confiscated.
