Russians were told what actually helps strengthen immunity in the fall.

Nutritionist Pristansky: There is no magic pill for immunity.

During the fall season, many people attempt to safeguard themselves against colds by purchasing vitamin C. However, nutritionist Roman Pristansky emphasizes that maintaining health during this time requires more than just taking pills; it's crucial to focus on a balanced diet.

Pristansky points out that vitamin C, despite its antioxidant properties, is not a universal remedy for strengthening the immune system. He explains that the scientist who won the Nobel Prize for discovering these properties later conducted research that proved vitamin C does not act as an immunomodulator on the immune system.

This fact emphasizes that there are no magic bullets for supporting immunity. The primary focus should be on dietary diversity.

In an interview with Radio 1, Pristansky recommended including fruits and berries in the diet. "The more varied the diet, the better. This provides the body with all the necessary macro- and micronutrients to fight infections," he explains.

He also debunked the myth that frozen berries are unhealthy. "Frozen fruit is an excellent way to obtain nutrients. Freezing preserves almost all the vitamins, making it the best way to store fruit," the nutritionist concluded.
