Tax consultant Olga Sosnina told RuNews24.ru that previously this procedure only applied to companies and sole proprietors. However, very soon the changes will affect the following taxes:
- Personal income tax (individuals calculate this themselves when selling property in their 3-NDFL tax return, or the tax office calculates it in the case of income in the form of interest on deposits)
- NPD (automatically calculated for self-employed individuals in the “My Tax” app)
- Property tax, land tax, and transport tax (calculated by the tax authority)
"How will it work? If you fail to pay your tax obligations within the specified period, you will receive a tax payment demand. If you disagree with the debt, everything remains the same: you file an objection, and the issue is resolved in court. Your rights are protected. But if you remain silent and do not pay, within six months from the date of expiration of the demand, the tax authority may debit the amount of taxes from your bank card," explained the publication's interlocutor and told what to do.
1. Remember the tax payment deadlines — December 1 is the deadline for paying property tax, land tax, transport tax, and personal income tax on interest income from deposits.
2. Carefully check all tax notices with tax amounts — you can always view them in your personal taxpayer account.
3. If you see an error, don't keep quiet! Immediately write a request for recalculation.
“The new rules are not about everyone having money deducted from their accounts. They are about disputes being resolved in court and undisputed debts being collected more quickly. The main thing is to be attentive and take action if you disagree with something,” concluded tax consultant Olga Sosnina.
