The All-Russian Association of Fishery Producers calculated that by September 6, the average selling price for pink salmon fell to the minimum of June 25, 2022 and amounted to 152 rubles per one kilogram of the product.
"Since the beginning of the prounina, the price of pink salmon has fallen 1.7 times. One of the factors that influenced this was a successful poutine," Association said.
German Zverev, president of the association, told Rossiyskaya Gazeta that as of September 5, more than 572 thousand tons of Pacific salmon had been caught, which is the highest figure for the last five years. The price of pink salmon has been changing since the beginning of the puroina season and so far the price has not been fixed.
"Having reached a peak of 350 rubles in early July, by the end of the month the price fell by half, now the decline is going at a slower pace, but so far the price has not been fixed," Zverev said.
By the end of August, fishermen had caught 82,599 tons of salmon off Kamchatka, of which 181,905 tons were pink salmon.
