Bashkiria collected the first tourist tax - 20 mln rubles

The authorities note that this tax introduces new mechanisms of financial replenishment of the budget at the expense of the tourist flow and helps to create decent conditions for further development of infrastructure, marketing and improving the level of service. First of all, the collected funds are planned to be used for improvement of tourist infrastructure, development of cultural programs and promotion of the region as a tourist center. Representatives of the hotel industry see their role in supporting the growth of the tourism sector and creating attractive conditions for tourists, and are confident that such measures will contribute to the formation of sustainable industry development in the region. Thus, the first tourist tax revenues of 20 million rubles demonstrate the potential of Bashkiria to become a popular and modern tourist center capable of simultaneously supporting the development of the national economy and preserving the rich cultural heritage.

With the further development of tourism infrastructure and new tax measures, the issue of balancing support for the industry and concern for tourists is becoming more acute. In particular, the possibility of introducing a tourist tax, which could have an impact on the cost of vacations and service levels, was previously discussed. It should be noted that such initiatives are controversial and require careful analysis to ensure the comfort and accessibility of tourism for the population. At the same time, personal impressions of tourists, the example of a 65-year-old resident of Yakutia, who tells about a hiking trip to Baikal, confirm that natural beauty and cultural heritage remain the main values that encourage people to travel despite possible financial peculiarities.
