In August of this year, 144 new Hongqi vehicles were registered in the city, and 138 in September. These figures were the best in 2025.
These results were only surpassed in September of the previous year, when 148 vehicles were registered.
From January to September of this year, 746 new Hongqi vehicles were registered in St. Petersburg, a 24% increase compared to the same period last year (in the first half of the year, growth was 14%).
The HS3 and HS5 crossovers played a key role in the sales increase, accounting for 75% of the brand's total sales in August and 83% in September. For example, the HS5 model is equipped with a 2.0-liter engine producing 245 hp and an all-wheel drive system.
According to the expert, the increase in demand was driven by seasonal discounts on the HS3 and HS5 models, reaching 25% off the recommended retail price, as well as preferential credit programs and a corporate leasing program.
It's worth noting that these models are widely used in China to transport high-ranking officials and the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
In May, the St. Petersburg administration announced the purchase of Hongqi H9 sedans for city officials and members of parliament, for a total of 77.5 million rubles. The plan was to purchase 10 of these vehicles at a price of approximately 7.75 million rubles each.
The Ministry of Transport reminded drivers that they must switch to winter tires by early December. It was previously reported that Russian taxi companies had begun selling off their foreign-made vehicles en masse.
