Lawyer Yegor Vasiliev told this in a conversation with the Prime publication. He noted that currently Russian drivers are almost never penalized for this violation. According to the lawyer, this is due to long-standing problems in the development of special technical standards and the lack of suitable devices for measuring noise levels. The interlocutor suggested that the introduction of a tangible fine could persuade car owners to eliminate faults affecting the noise level of their cars. However, the expert emphasized that for the new law to work effectively, the whole system of fixing violations will have to be thoroughly finalized.
While renting a car over the Internet is becoming twice as cheap and Chinese crossovers are “taking over” the market, new rules concerning the operation of their cars are being prepared for Russian drivers.
