Half of service stations refuse to work with questionable spare parts due to defects

About 50% of service stations (STO) in Russia refuse to use spare parts that raise doubts about their quality, said Dmitry Denshov, an expert of the Union of Automotive Services and director of the Reikanen STO. About 20% of STOs declare a complete refusal to work with other people's components.

Since 2025, there has been an increase in sales of auto parts and consumables on online platforms. According to the Eurorepar service station network, approximately 30% of customers come to the service with their own components. The high percentage of defects among the brought parts and the risk of breakdowns force the mechanics to refuse repairs.

Marketing Director of the Emex information and trading platform Ilarion Demchikov noted to Izvestia that in the first three months of 2025, the share of counterfeit or low-quality components, including brake discs, pads, filters and technical fluids, reached 20%, especially on non-specialized online platforms.

Earlier, the import of Chinese cars to Russia fell by 62%. Also, the production of Chinese Changan cars may be localized in the Russian Federation.
