From January to September of this year, new passenger car and LCV sales fell by 23% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 922,429 units.
According to Alexey Kalitsev, Chairman of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) Automobile Manufacturers Committee, despite the end of the holiday season, September did not see the expected sharp rise in sales. However, he noted that active media discussions regarding the upcoming increase in the recycling fee significantly impacted the market in the second half of September, setting the stage for possible growth in the next quarter. His comment was included in the AEB's official statement.
It was previously reported that the expert community is warning that October of this year will be a month of significant financial expenses for car owners in Russia. Lada Iskra sales in Russia increased sevenfold in September.
