According to the expert, the key factor affecting the decrease in demand is the rise in the price of new cars due to the increase in the utilization fee. In parallel, high interest rates on car loans do not stimulate buying activity.
Baibarosha notes that many potential buyers decided to postpone the purchase, hoping for a possible reduction in interest rates and improved credit conditions. An additional factor that influenced the reduction in sales was the strengthening of the ruble.
According to the expert, the fall of the dollar below 90 rubles, as well as the emerging improvement in relations between Russia and the United States, raised hopes for the easing of sanctions and forced consumers to take a wait-and-see attitude. To expect a decrease in car prices due to the strengthening of the ruble should not be earlier than the end of April or May.
