Automotive expert Olshansky: Complaints about camera fines should be filed only in court

Fines for violations recorded by cameras can be contested, but it is important to meet deadlines and correctly fill out the documents. This was reported by the honorary lawyer of Russia, vice-president of the «Movement of Russian Motorists» Leonid Olshansky.

He noted that complaints to MADI or AMPP almost always end in refusal, so you should go straight to court. The deadline for filing is limited to 10 days from the date of receipt of the ruling. To appeal, you need a paper notice with a photo of the violation.

According to the lawyer, the complaint should be short and clear, indicating the body that issued the ruling. The most common mistakes are related to missing deadlines and incorrect execution. At the same time, some violations can be challenged, for example, in controversial situations with parking at bus stops.

Olshansky emphasized in an interview with Pravda.Ru that a correctly drawn up complaint significantly increases the chances of canceling a fine and avoiding unnecessary expenses.

Earlier, in Russia, from September 1, the rules for transporting children in cars were also tightened.

In addition, from the beginning of autumn 2025, Russian drivers will face a number of changes in legislation affecting fines, medical examinations, car sharing and state fees.
