"We have issued a circular from the Ministries of Health that is based on the Aifa recommendations. The circular allows citizens vaccinated with drugs not approved by the EMA to get a booster dose of the mRNA vaccine, Pfizer or Moderna," Roberto Speranza said during a speech in Rome.

In order to receive the Italian green pass, those vaccinated with the above mentioned drugs will have to receive a booster dose of mRNA vaccine no later than six months after vaccination. General Director of Aifa Nicola Magrini earlier allowed the introduction of such a procedure, thanks to which citizens who were injected with Sputnik V and Sinovac will be able to receive covid certificates.

Almost the entire population of San Marino has been vaccinated with the Russian drug. Also Russian citizens working in Italy, including journalists and diplomats, were vaccinated with Sputnik V.
