Traveling couple mixed up suitcases at airport and brought 24 kg of cannabis to Japan

Tourists brought someone else's suitcase full of cannabis on vacation in Japan

Travelers arriving in Japan were shocked to find 24 kilograms of marijuana in their luggage instead of their personal belongings. The Japanese customs officer was as stunned as the elderly couple who had unwittingly turned into smugglers. To their credit, the Japanese authorities quickly sorted out the situation and, without pressing charges, allowed the tourists to enter the country.

In Thailand, a couple flying from Surat Thani to Bangkok mistakenly took someone else's suitcase identical to their own. They then checked in for a flight to Tokyo without arousing suspicion from either Thai or Japanese authorities.

Upon arrival in Japan, there was difficulty opening the suitcase. It was only then that the guide noticed the foreign name on the tag. The discovered strange cargo was immediately handed over to customs officials.

The representative of the authorities verified the innocence of the Thais and the drugs were confiscated. The tourists were allowed to continue their trip. However, due to the stress the couple refused to visit Mount Fuji and preferred to stay near the airport.

The real owner of the suitcase quickly discovered the missing suitcase and contacted Suvarnabhumi Airport. Fortunately, the requested luggage was not found before the flight of the “smugglers” due to a misunderstanding, according to TourDom.

The lawyer told what to do if your luggage was lost on the flight or at the station.

A mistake in the passport almost ruined the vacation in Thailand for a tourist from Novosibirsk.
