Even those who carefully monitor their diet sometimes notice that they may suddenly crave burgers or candy in the evening. In a conversation with RuNews24.ru, nutritionist Alyona Kapustina explained that evening appetite may be related to the biological rhythms of the body and a person's lifestyle.
“In the evening, the level of hormones responsible for metabolism decreases, which can lead to an increase in appetite. In addition, if a person does not move much during the day, he or she may experience hunger in the evening due to lack of energy. In addition, nervous tension and fatigue can cause the desire to eat something tasty and unhealthy to calm down,” explains the nutritionist.
The interlocutor noted that sleep deprivation can lead to disruption of hormonal balance and, as a consequence, to increased appetite. From the built diet for the day also depends on how the appetite will behave in the evening.
So, if a person skips breakfast or lunch, he or she may overeat in the evening due to intense hunger.
“To cope with evening appetite, you need to follow a dietary regimen throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. You also need to increase physical activity during the day to burn calories. And, of course, you should avoid stressful situations, learn to cope with them without food. Of course, it is important to ensure a good night's sleep of at least 7-8 hours a day,” recommends nutritionist Alena Kapustina.
