The President of the Russian Federation has signed a decree aimed at strengthening the protection of citizens from telephone fraudsters and unwanted calls. The document introduces a number of important changes to the work of telecommunications operators and financial organizations.
A decree providing for a set of measures to counteract unlawful activity was signed in order to improve the security of citizens and combat telephone fraud. The main provisions of the document are aimed at strengthening control over suspicious activity and preventing unauthorized actions.
According to the new rules, telecom operators will receive additional tools to identify and block fraudulent numbers. Special attention is paid to protecting users' personal data and preventing unauthorized access to bank accounts.
Financial organizations are obliged to strengthen the verification of clients when conducting transactions and to respond promptly to suspicious activity. In addition, mandatory informing of citizens about fraud attempts and ways of protection from unwanted calls is introduced.
Experts note that the measures taken will help to significantly reduce the number of cases of telephone fraud and protect the interests of citizens. Of particular importance is a comprehensive approach to solving the problem, including both technical and organizational measures.
The document also provides for the strengthening of responsibility for violation of the established rules and the creation of a unified system for monitoring suspicious activity. This will make it possible to promptly detect and suppress unlawful actions, ensuring the safety of users.
On the eve of the holidays, attackers targeting gullible women have become more active. Under the guise of couriers and flower sellers, they use a romantic pretext to trick out personal data. The State Duma drew attention to the new scheme of deception and urged Russian women to be especially careful.
Also phone and Internet fraudsters defraud thousands of Russians every year. To strengthen the protection of citizens, deputies have developed and approved a comprehensive law providing for new security measures in financial transactions. Among the initiatives is the possibility of appointing a trusted person to confirm transfers.
