St. Petersburg authorities canceled the contract with the company that designed the subway construction

“Metrogiprotrans” was deprived of the contract to design the subway in St. Petersburg

The city terminated the contract because the contractor had blown every possible deadline. The documentation should have been provided several years ago. It is also noted that the company has no admission to state secrets.

St. Petersburg authorities have terminated the contract with the company “Metrogiprotrans” (MGT) for the design of a part of the purple metro line from the station “Komendantsky Prospekt” to the station “Shuvalovsky Prospekt”. The corresponding document appeared on the site of public procurement. The company received the license in 2021, but in 2024 it was canceled.

The document states that the city capital construction fund unilaterally breaks the agreement, as the contractor blew off all the deadlines for the works. The project documentation should have been prepared before the end of August 2021. In addition, Metrogiprotrans lacks a license from the Federal Security Service, which allows it to work on projects involving state secrets. Metro construction is among them, as it can be used for defense purposes.

St. Petersburg authorities have promised to build 11 new metro stations over the next five years.

Earlier it was reported that the design of two subway stations “Bogatyrskaya” and “Kamenka” will cost 870 million rubles.
