The price of building a high-speed railway between St. Petersburg and Moscow was announced at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was also attended by Alexander Beglov, the governor of the northern capital. The volume of investments is over 610 billion roubles.
The road will pass through six regions. The planned journey time will be two hours and 15 minutes - 1.8 times less than it takes to travel now. High-speed trains will run every 10-15 minutes. The first batch of rolling stock includes 28 trains. The price of the issue is 148 billion roubles. The trains will go on the line by 2028.
The construction of the High-Speed Motorway in Russia was started several times, but the process was repeatedly stopped for various reasons. For example, in memory of the unrealised project, the territory adjacent to the Moscow railway station was decorated with a huge excavation pit for several years.
