This opinion was expressed by political adviser Sergey Markelov. He emphasizes that this proposal does not take into account all the technical, legal and economic aspects necessary for the implementation of such a plan.
Markelov also noted in a conversation with Pravda.Ru that the technology of Ukrainian nuclear power plants differs from that of the United States, which creates additional difficulties. According to him, this proposal is rather aimed at satisfying political ambitions than at finding real solutions to the problems. He believes that this is part of “propaganda policy”.
Russia perceives such proposals as an attempt at political manipulation. The calm reaction of the Russian leadership, according to Markelov, shows that these initiatives are not taken seriously.
He compared the U.S. actions to “a moss that barks at an elephant.” Markelov added that Russian authorities are dividing the events into “empty talk” and “real actions.” He categorized the proposal to control the nuclear power plant as “empty talk” because it lacks real actions.
Earlier it was reported that the US-Russian talks in Riyadh were “in full swing”.
