Sobyanin: In Moscow, the number of high-tech operations has increased to 192 thousand per year

Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that in 2024 the number of high-tech medical operations in Moscow reached 192 thousand, which is 10 times more compared to 2010. Of these, 126 thousand operations were performed in city clinics, while previously most of such procedures were performed in federal medical institutions.

One of the key areas of development is cardiac surgery, where the number of operations increased by 26% over the last year, and robotic technologies are also being actively developed. In 2024, almost 2.2 thousand operations using robots were performed, which is 91% more than in 2023.

In addition, in traumatology and orthopedics, robotic systems for endoprosthetics have been introduced since 2023, increasing the number of such operations by 12 times. Neurosurgery is also seeing significant growth, with over 9,500 surgeries in 2024.

In urology, laser and plasma ablation are actively used, and in oncology, the new radiation building at the Kommunarka center has improved accessibility of treatment for patients.

The Mayor of Moscow emphasized that high-tech surgeries, which used to be rare, have now become common practice in the capital's hospitals, and the work to introduce new medical technologies will continue in the future.

Also in 2025 the number of free IVF procedures in Moscow will increase by 50%. In addition, the capital's hospitals will receive funding for bone marrow transplants for children.

Scientists from the University of Sheffield have made an amazing discovery in the upper layers of the Earth's atmosphere. During the study, a stratostat launched to collect atmospheric particles, found an unusual object - a fragment of a shell of diatom algae.

This fact has aroused special interest of researchers, because, despite the fact that diatom algae appeared on Earth about 185 million years ago, there is a theory of their extraterrestrial origin. Specialists believe that these microorganisms could have been brought to our planet from outer space.

The most striking conclusion of the study was the assumption of the possible existence of an Earth-like planet in relative proximity to us. The basis for this assumption was that the extraterrestrial organism discovered had successfully adapted to Earth-like conditions. This suggests that the DNA of these algae may be identical to similar life forms on another planet where similar conditions exist for life to evolve.

The discovery has raised interesting questions about the possibility of the theory of the spread of life in the universe through meteorites and space dust, as well as the potential existence of an Earth-like twin somewhere in outer space.

The previous day, it was reported that the Earth is in danger of self-destruction due to deformation of the core.
