As part of the project, specialists are pulling new polyethylene pipes with diameters of 110 and 225 millimeters inside old utilities. Both traditional open laying methods and advanced trenchless technologies, including horizontal directional drilling and auger drilling, are used. According to Gasan Gasangadzhiev, Director General of Mosgaz, when reconstructing gas pipelines over 1250 meters long, specialists combine different methods to minimize the impact on the urban environment.
Horizontal directional drilling technology allows laying pipes without excavation, using specialized equipment for creating underground wells. Auger drilling also reduces the need for trenches, speeding up the work process.
According to the municipal economy complex, the gas pipelines upgrade will improve the reliability of the network and reduce the load on the surrounding infrastructure. The reconstruction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025, and the service life of the new pipes will be more than 40 years.
Earlier it was reported that 2 thousand jobs will be created in Moscow within the framework of KRT projects on 153 hectares. Also, a school for 17 thousand square meters for 675 pupils is being built in the Second Nagatinsky Residential Complex.
