In the Pacific Ocean, the crew of an Ecuadorian boat found a Peruvian fisherman who set sail from the coastal town of Marcona 95 days ago, but due to bad weather deviated from his course and disappeared.

According to CNN, 61-year-old fisherman Maximo Napa Castro took to the sea in his fishing boat. By the time he was found, the fisherman was severely malnourished, dehydrated and in critical condition.

When the fisherman got a little stronger, he said that he was able to survive thanks to rainwater. He also ate insects, birds and turtle. Castro spent the last 15 days without food.

“I have a granddaughter who is a few months old, I was holding on to her. Every day I thought about my mother,” - said the surviving fisherman.
