A resident of the village of Smolina in the Shatrovsky District of the Kurgan Region has been arrested on charges of intentionally setting a building on fire. The fire resulted in the deaths of a woman born in 1967 and two young children, and one child was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. According to the Kurgan Region Prosecutor's Office, the crime was committed while intoxicated.
According to investigators, the 24-year-old man, who cohabited with the deceased, doused the exterior of the house with gasoline and set the fire due to a domestic dispute. The prosecutor's office continues to investigate and establish all the circumstances of the incident. A criminal case has been opened against the man.
