How can I protect myself from tuberculosis?
A person with active tuberculosis can infect about ten people during a year, mainly through airborne droplets. This contagious disease is dangerous and without timely treatment can be fatal. It is impossible to get rid of it completely. To raise awareness of the threat of tuberculosis and encourage regular check-ups, World TB Day is held annually on March 24. Here's a look at prevention measures.
Preventing tuberculosis:
Vaccination. The BCG vaccine is a key prevention method and reduces the risk of severe forms in children.
Screening and diagnosis. The main methods are skin tests (Mantoux) and fluorography. Mantoux is performed annually in children from 12 months to 7 years of age. In the absence of BCG - from 6 months of age 2 times a year until vaccination. Fluorography is performed annually, unless there are special indications (diabetes, ulcer).
Actions when the disease is detected:
Patients with tuberculosis should receive treatment and strictly follow the recommendations of doctors to avoid dangerous complications, such as pulmonary bleeding - the result of destruction of blood vessels due to inflammation.
Once treatment is started, the risk of infecting others quickly decreases.
Earlier, doctors revealed the side effects of foreign vaccines from SOVID-19. It also became known why there is no fentanyl epidemic in Russia.
