According to doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov on the program "О самом главном" (About the most important) on the channel "Russia-1," uncontrolled intake of calcium is dangerous to health, because an overdose of this popular vitamin can lead to seizures and other side effects.
According to the specialist, in osteoporosis, a disease caused by the loss of calcium in bone tissues, doctors recommend a special diet for patients and the use of a sufficient amount of calcium and vitamin D.
Miasnikov said that men and women need to take 1g of calcium and 600mg of vitamin D with food every day. Sometimes doctors recommend increasing the amount of calcium, but exceeding the dosage is dangerous. The TV presenter warned Russians not to take more than 2g of calcium, as weakness, fatigue and cramps can occur.
