The report for the fourth quarter (October-December) of 2024 notes that the poverty rate is set at 15,552 rubles, up from 14,339 rubles in 2023.
The poverty rate reduction is due to the growth of wages of the population, profit from business activities and real estate, as well as the implementation of social initiatives and increase in social payments.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, the total monetary income of the population reached Br34.1 trillion, showing an increase of 18.4% against 2023. Real income increased by 8.6%, while real disposable income increased by 4.1%.
The average monthly nominal salary amounted to Br100,620 in October-December last year, up 18.8% in nominal terms and 9.0% in real terms.
The average size of assigned pensions reached 21,083 rubles, exceeding the 2023 figure by 7.4%. The growth of wages and targeted social support contributed to the increase in income of the least well-off strata of the population by 13.0% in nominal terms.
It was also reported that the poverty rate in Russia since 2018 has decreased by 37%.
