The draft was prepared by the U.S. and Albania.
US Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfil has said that the issue of the referendums on joining Russia, which were held in the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions, will be considered at the UN Security Council.
She noted that if the resolution does not receive support at the UN Security Council, the document, which was prepared by the U.S. and Albania, will be submitted to the General Assembly.
"If Russia chooses to defend itself against responsibility here in the Security Council, we will turn to the General Assembly to send a clear message to Moscow," said Thomas-Greenfil, the U.S. permanent representative.
The U.N. Security Council will meet on Friday, September 30. It is scheduled for 3 p.m. (10 p.m. Moscow time).
The Security Council will also consider today the terrorist attacks on the Nord Streams in the Baltic Sea.
