A unit fire at a chemical plant in the Bulgarian town of Svishtov led to an explosion

An explosion has occurred at the Sviloza chemical plant in the town of Svishtov in northern Bulgaria. At the moment it is known about two victims. This is reported by Bulgarian National Radio with reference to information received from the management of the enterprise.

According to the manager of the chemical plant Mikhail Kolchev, the explosion was triggered by the ignition of the unit, the fire is currently extinguished, “the consequences are yet to be established.”

It is also reported that as a result of this incident, an employee of the enterprise and one of the firefighters received minor injuries, they did not seek medical attention. Other details are unknown.

Earlier we wrote about a large fire at the shipyard Lürssen in the district of Rendsburg Germany, in connection with which about 30 residents of nearby areas were evacuated. And in Ukraine, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed a plant for the production of explosives.
