Polish government spokesman Peter Müller said Warsaw fully supports the initiative to stop issuing Schengen visas to Russian citizens.

Earlier this idea was put forward by Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu. He said that a proposal to that effect was being prepared for transmission to Brussels.

Peter Müller confirmed that "Poland is a supporter of far-reaching sanctions against Russia".

Finland was also in favor of limiting visa issuance to Russian citizens, and even named several ways to do it.

Against the background of these statements, the EU mission in Moscow stated that no decisions to cancel visas for Russians in the EU were taken. This was reported by RIA Novosti citing its own source.
