The Chinese authorities intend to strengthen dialogue with the parties to the conflict.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning told TASS that the country's authorities intend to conduct an active dialogue with all parties to the Ukrainian conflict to find a political settlement.
"China will strengthen dialogue and interaction with all parties, will constantly strengthen consensus and mutual trust," Mao Ning explained.
She said the Chinese leadership will be based on respecting the integrity of sovereignty, the provisions of the UN Charter, as well as the legitimate interests of each party, which, the diplomat said, appreciated Beijing's efforts to promote a peaceful solution to the crisis.
Earlier, China's special representative for Eurasian affairs, Li Hui, called for an end to the conflict and recognition of new territories for Russia.
