UK announces plans for cooperation with Russia contrary to sanctions

British Ambassador to Russia Deborah Bronnert voiced her intention to continue cooperation with Russia, despite the sanctions and the principled position of the European Union.

London's plans became known from Deborah Bronnert's online speech entitled "Britain's exit from the EU." She noted that although the sanctions will not be completely lifted, we can continue to work with Russia on certain issues, guided by our interests.

Bronnert explained that cooperation is planned within the framework of the UN Security Council, as well as on global climate change and other important topics. She mentioned the mutual assistance of Moscow and London during the first wave of the pandemic, when the urgent return of Russian citizens to their homeland was required. Britain is counting on a warming relationship in the future, the diplomat noted.
