At the warehouse of the Greek Air Force in Nea Anchialos, where there were explosions of ammunition due to a forest fire, the fire has been localized. About it writes the newspaper Protothema with reference to military sources.

The fire at the warehouse of the 111th combat wing of the Greek Air Force has been brought under control.

Around the area creates a "red zone of prohibition of traffic", this was reported by the TV channel ERT-1. For safety reasons, firefighters will continue to spray coolant on the ammunition depot. Experts will enter the area after 24 hours to assess the situation.

In order to prevent the natural fire from spreading to the base of the 111th Wing's Nea Anchialos, forests are being cut down in places.

Those living three kilometers from the warehouse were evacuated to the town of Volos. They were accommodated overnight in the exhibition center. They were transported out of the emergency zone by cars, buses, as well as by sea on coast guard boats, private boats and boats.
