The American side is wary of the TikTok social network because it is seen as a threat to the country's cybersecurity.
The U.S. National Security Agency has made an important statement about TikTok. Representatives of the agency believe that through the social network, the Chinese authorities can influence the opinions of Americans, showing materials that cause controversy.
Rob Joyce, head of the NSA's cybersecurity division, said that TikTok is a Trojan horse that influences Americans in a negative way. The social network is putting pressure on U.S. cybersecurity. Joyce believes that in this way Beijing manipulates data and brings discord to society.
TikTok said the social network is not a big threat when compared to YouTube. Also, the service's employees have taken more security measures than other Western competitors.
