"All of Germany's gas supply contracts are serviced. This means that the Germany is about 55 percent dependent on Russian gas, at least that was the case before. There is a possibility of diversification because there are more than 20 LNG terminals in Europe, which are used more actively," Habeck said.

Earlier in the briefing, a representative of the German Ministry of Economics said that the country's gas storage capacity is currently 40-41 percent full.

Habeck added that "all supply agreements from Russia are fulfilled," but it is not via Ukraine and not via the Yamal-Europe pipeline, but mainly via Nord Stream 1.
