TikTok sale is postponed for another week

The initial deadline ended on November 12, it was extended for the second time.

US authorities have given ByteDance another week to sell Chinese TikTok to American companies. The deadline is December 4th. Earlier, the authorities had already given a delay of 15 days, it ended on November 27, Bloomberg writes.

The story of the confrontation between US President Donald Trump and video hosting TikTok began in August. Trump suspected the Chinese manufacturer of ByteDance of spying on Americans and issued a decree according to which the company was supposed to sell the American part of the TikTok to American companies by November 12.

It was assumed that the application will disappear from Google Play and App Store stores. In September, Trump approved the purchase of shares in the ByteDance by Oracle and Walmart, but the decision was not agreed with China, and after the deal was opposed by a federal court.

In ByteDance and TikTok, they considered that Trump exceeded his powers and was trying to influence the situation for political reasons.
