The timing of the start of vaccination was announced by US President Donald Trump on November 26 during a video conference with the US military, who are serving abroad.
Trump said that from next week they will begin to vaccinate health workers and emergency workers. Senior citizens will also begin to receive the vaccine.
"The whole world is suffering from this pandemic, not just us, the whole world. We are overcoming the curve, vaccines will spread starting next week and the week after," Trump said during a video conversation told by Reuters.
Donald Trump did not specify which vaccine will be distributed next week.
