Italy's center-right coalition leads in elections

The center-right parties Brothers of Italy, Liga, and Go Italy are leading in the Italian parliamentary elections, Rai News 24 television channel reported, citing exit polls. The coalition of these parties won between 41 percent and 45 percent of the vote.

The leader within the coalition is Giorgi Meloni's Brothers of Italy party, which won between 22% and 26% of the vote.

The Democratic Party could break the 20% barrier, with the entire center-left bloc gaining up to 30%.

In third place is the Five Star Movement with 13.5-17.5%.

As follows from the preliminary data, the center-right will have the right to form the government of Italy. They will have a majority of seats in both the upper and lower houses of parliament.
