Vietnam or Turkey? The choice is not so obvious: both destinations are popular with Russians in the summer, but there are far more differences than they seem, experts explain.
Inna Shut, a travel guide from Yugra, notes that both countries offer excellent beach vacations and direct flights from many Russian cities. In Turkey the average flight time is 6-7 hours, in Vietnam - 8-10. According to her, the beaches in Vietnam are more comfortable: sand everywhere and a gentle entrance to the sea. The country also offers hotel vacations in Cam Ranh and city vacations in Nha Trang. However, in Turkey, the expert adds, more attention is paid to children's animation, mini-clubs are adapted to Russian tourists.
Nadezhda Tarbaeva, head of marketing department of tour operator PANTEON, emphasizes that Turkey is a universal destination with many all-inclusive hotels and plenty of entertainment. The season there is familiar to Russians: from April to October. Vietnam, on the contrary, offers exotic nature, rice terraces, tropical flora and fauna, rich excursion program.
In Vietnam, the season depends on the region: for example, in Fukuoka - from November to March, in Nha Trang - from January to September. The climate is humid, but comfortable. An important difference is that in Vietnam you will rarely find hotels with “all-inclusive” system, but in fives they often serve fresh seafood, which is not always enough in Turkey.
Expert Marina Kharchenko adds: Vietnam is milder in climate, while Turkey is closer and logistics are better developed. Vietnam will suit those who are looking for exoticism and new experiences, while Turkey will suit those who appreciate comfort, a short flight and a vacation with children.
