Nevada residents Cindy and Jeff Hall adopted a kitten from a shelter when he was 12 weeks old. Sam lived with the family for 7 years and then suddenly went missing. The owners began immediately looking for the pet at once, sensing something wrong, put up ads, according to Kark 4 News. But the cat was nowhere to be found.

They had already given up hope to reunite with the pet, but after five years they received a call from the Animal Rescue Center, from where they once took Sam.

It turned out that the Center was contacted by a veterinary clinic, which is located 2000 kilometers from the place where the Hall family lives.

The cat was brought to the clinic by concerned people who found the animal on the street. Veterinarians examined the cat and found a chip sewn under the skin on the withers, where the coordinates of the Animal Rescue Center were stored.

Cindy and Jeff immediately went to get Sam. He is now back living with them. Cheta Hall notes that after the return of the cat they again feel like a complete family.

Earlier it was reported that in Moscow veterinarians rescued a corgi in Moscow, which swallowed two dozen chocolates together with the wrappers.
