70% of stations that support the 5G technology standard are created in China.
The Ministry of Industry and Informatization of China reported on the presence of 700 thousand base stations operating in 5G in the country. Nowhere in the world have they come close to such values. About 180 million terminals are connected to the stations.
As noted in the country's digital department, the pandemic contributed to the growth of Internet traffic consumption. Relative to last year, it increased by exactly half. Some regions of China began to consume traffic by 60-70% more.
Communication services in the 5G format have become available in China since the end of October. Shanghai became the leader in their consumption. The main research centers, many enterprises, including Huawei headquarters, are concentrated in the metropolis.
