About 650 people who died of coronavirus infection in New York lie in mobile morgues since the spring. Refrigerators are standing in Brooklyn, right on the waterfront.
The Wall Street Journal writes that the families of many of the dead cannot be found. Sometimes the dead lived separately from their family, data on their relatives are incorrect or outdated. Some of the dead are homeless.
The New York Office of the Senior Forensic Expert reported that some relatives were unable to afford to bury the dead. In the USA, it is very expensive.
We remind that in the spring, New York turned out to be the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic. The greatest number of infected US citizens died here. Sometimes their number reached 700 people.
The city authorities deployed refrigerated morgues, unloading morgues in hospitals. They were put on the territory of Sunset Park.
