Turkey to conduct free immunization with Chinese vaccine

The Turkish Ministry of Health announced plans for free vaccination of citizens of the republic with a coronavirus vaccine from China.

Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koja announced the end of negotiations with the PRC authorities on the supply of Sinovac vaccine.

The contract for the supply of immune drug was signed by the parties, vaccination will be completely free for Turkish citizens, the head of the Ministry of Health said.

The Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech has already sent the first batch of 10 million doses of vaccine to the republic. Two stages of its tests showed the high effectiveness of the drug. At the final stage, the results of its use on a large number of people will be investigated. In particular, the duration of the immune response will be studied.

In Turkey, they are also going to purchase drugs for immunization against coronavirus and other manufacturers. The agreement can be drawn up after the vaccines pass the necessary licensing.

Earlier, the Turkish Minister of Health reported that the Russian Sputnik V vaccine would cost the country's budget much cheaper than Pfizer and Moderna.
