Japan forms astronaut corps for moon exploration

Japanese authorities are recruiting a team to participate in the NASA Earth satellite project.

Young people who will become the first settlers on the moon are invited to participate in the competition. Now there are already seven Japanese in the astronaut corps, but almost all of them are 50 years old.

The Government of Japan believes that the project should recruit people who can withstand prolonged physical activity while performing work on the moon. Selection of contestants will begin in the fall of 2021. The best of them will be the crew of the space ship Artemis-3, which starts from Earth in 2024.
