Bloomberg attributes the growth of currencies to a large influx of Russian citizens in these countries amid the start of special operations in Ukraine.
In 2022, the Armenian dram and the Georgian lari became the world leaders in terms of currency growth.
Analysts said that the first has appreciated against the dollar by more than 22%, while the Georgian lari has become more expensive by 16% and the Tajik Somoni by 10%.
Transfers from Russia to Georgia exceeded $1.75 billion and to Armenia $2.8 billion, while the increase of transfers to Armenia was the highest since 2004.
According to BCS financial group specialist Natalia Lavrova, remittances to Tajikistan increased by 50%.
Georgia's GDP growth is 10%, as predicted by the staff of the International Monetary Fund. In Armenia, GDP growth shifted from 1.6% to 13%, while in Tajikistan, the economy grew 7%.
