UK to carry out exercise to “destroy” Russian and Chinese satellites

The UK Air Force intends to conduct training exercises to destroy simulated enemy satellites.

The British Ministry of Defence is preparing for an exercise aimed at "destroying" Chinese and Russian military and communications satellites. It is reported by Daily Express.

Mike Wigston, head of the British Space Forces, has explained that an international armed conflict may not arise in space but "will move there very quickly". According to him, it could determine the outcome of the battle.

The British Ministry of Defence plans to practice sending its Typhoon fighters to the "edge of space" - to an altitude of 12 kilometres. From there, they will make a vertical climb and fire training missiles at simulated enemy satellites.
